The Fisher has added another set of photos to its Flickr page: a set of stereo views of Niagara Falls and vicinity c.1855-1860. These images were created on glass by Platt D. Babbitt using the wet plate collodion process, and include photos of funambulists over the falls on a wire, people exploring the area in winter, and a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1860. Babbitt (1822-1879) had an exclusive concession on the American side of the falls from the early 1850s to the 1870s, and he sold his images to tourists.
