The resources of the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library may be used by all scholars and researchers, whether or not they are members of the University of Toronto community. A University of Toronto Library card is not necessary to access the collections, but onsite registration is required.
*Notice* From December 6th to December 20th, the Fisher Library’s Reading Room and Reference areas will be accessible by appointment only as we will be replacing the carpets on the main floor. During this time, online requests for materials will be accepted but walk-in requests will not be permitted. Access to materials may be limited or restricted as the work progresses. The Fisher’s upstairs exhibition will remain open to the public.We thank you for your patience during this minor renovation! Please contact fisher.library@utoronto.ca with any questions.
Beginning September 17 and running through the academic year until the end of April, the Fisher Library will again be offering extended hours on Thursday evenings. The library will be open until 8:00 pm, with the reading room closing at 7:45. We also alter our retrieval times on Thursdays: requests received by 4:00 pm will be available at 5:00 pm.
