La Farsa series 
is a fine example of the Fisher’s collection of Spanish plays raging from 1842 to 1942. La Farsa was a weekly literary magazine devoted to publishing the most popular plays represented in Spanish theatres in the years prior to the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).
The collection documents the peak of the género chico (Spanish genre of one-act or short plays with music) in the first half of the twentieth century in Spain. Popular dramatics such as Pedro Muñoz Seca (1879-1936), Jacinto Benavente (1866-1954), Antonio Paso (1870-1958), and Antonio Quintero (1895-1977) regularly contributed to the series with zarzuelas, comedias, sainetes, and other styles of the género chico. La Farsa consist of 476 issues published and performed for the most part between 1926 and 1936. This publication is a unique combination of vivid cover designs, contemporary authors, and informative paratexts. La Farsa offers an array of evidence for researchers in theatre and drama studies as well as those in literary studies, history of the book, and graphic design.
