The Fisher kicks off its Friends of Fisher Library lecture series this month with the John Seltzer and Mark Seltzer Memorial Lecture. It will be delivered on Thursday October 14 at 6 pm (Eastern) via Zoom by noted book collector Garrett Herman
In this very personal talk, titled “Darwin and Me,” noted book collector Garrett Herman will discuss the evolution of his collecting and the discovery of his love for Darwin. Topics will include his rationale for acquisitions, anecdotes about the rare and antiquarian book dealers he encountered along the way, a tour of his evolution libraries, an introduction to some of the interesting characters that arrived on his doorstep, how he dismantled his collection, and how it feels to part with Darwin and plan new book collecting adventures.
There will be a live Q&A with Garrett Herman after the lecture.
